Lee Jung hun, head of Gangdong-gu District Office, announced the case of Gangdong-gu's future education innovation at the "2021 General Assembly of Innovative Education Local Government Council" held at the Grand Ballroom Hall in Seoul on the 3rd.

The event was held online and offline with officials, including the heads of 63 innovative education local government councils and lawmaker Lee Kwang-jae.

Under the theme of "Communication for a New Direction of Education: Finding a Way to Future Education," the event was held in the order of the first part conference and the second part regular general meeting. At a first-part conference to announce the best practices for promoting future education projects in five member cities, including Gangdong-gu, mayor Lee Jung hun introduced the Gangdong Smart Education model, a future education project in Gangdong-gu.

Gangdong-gu established a master plan for future education that allows access to various educational contents without space-time constraints, and established a Gangdong smart education model through social safety net and digital public service innovation.

Accordingly, the district is pushing for various future education projects, including the establishment of the Gangdong Future Education Innovation Center and online and offline learning courses, the establishment of all high school e-studios in Gangdong-gu, support for two-way remote class platforms, smart campus operation to bridge the regional education gap, and Gangdong Integrated Education Portal.

"We need a flexible educational environment that can be learned anytime, anywhere in the fast-changing era, and we need innovation in the curriculum that reflects creativity and diversity," said Lee Jung hun, head of Gangdong-gu District Office.
