   - A total of 14 companies scheduled to move in by the end of this year, redrawing Gangdong-gu's economic map

Gangdong-gu Office (Head: Lee Soo-hee) announced on the 18th that it will carry out full-fledged development of a collaborative plan for local growth in anticipation of the entry of large retailers such as IKEA, following a collaborative discussion held in Godeok Business Valley on the 10th.

The Godeok Business Valley Shared Growth Committee is composed of individuals from various fields, including traditional markets, shopping districts, furniture stores, restaurants, small business owners, residents, professionals, and large retailers.

At this meeting, appointment certificates were given to 11 new committee members. In addition, the committee members took the time to enhance their capacity by learning about collaborative plans for small businesses and large retailers as well as cases from other regions through special lectures given by experts. They also discussed future schedules and methods for committee operation.

Gangdong-gu Office plans to develop a collaborative plan for the growth of small businesses and the region through regular meetings, until 2024 when large retailers such as IKEA move in.

Godeok Business Valley is Gangdong-gu's largest commercial and office complex, spanning an area of 234,523  in the vicinity of Godeok-dong 345beonji. The complex is a core force that leads Gangdong-gu to become the economic center of the eastern metropolitan area, with a variety of facilities such as retail complexes, office buildings, R&D centers, and public institutions.

Since KX Group and Silla moved in last year, 14 companies are scheduled to move in by the end of this year. The construction of a large retail and distribution complex called "Godeok I-Park The Urban" is currently underway, which will include IKEA, retail facilities, a movie theater, and office buildings. The project aims to be completed by the end of 2024.

After the completion of Godeok Business Valley in 2024, it is anticipated to greatly increase the brand value of Gangdong-gu and contribute significantly to economic revitalization and the creation of high-quality jobs.

"Through the collaboration committee, we will develop a collaborative plan for small businesses, large retailers, and the local community to grow together,” said Lee Soo-hee, the head of Gangdong-gu. "We plan to redraw the economic map of Gangdong-gu through Godeok Business Valley.”
